Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett continues to show improvement two weeks after a life-threatening injury to his spinal cord during a game. Dr. Teodoro Castillo, his attending physician at Memorial Hermann Hospital, says Everett lifted his right arm slightly and sat up in bed for four hours over the weekend. That was by far the longest he's been able to sit up. Castillo told ESPN's Darren Lyn that doctors are starting Everett out with about three hours a day of treatment, which includes elevating him or carrying him to a chair to put him in the sitting position, and working out his functioning muscles. Everett even had a family member's baby put in his arms so he could cuddle with the child, even though he could not lift the baby. Dr. Castillo is not putting a timetable on Everett's recovery. He says there is no way to predict when he will stand or walk again, although he is optimistic that might happen sooner than later.
