Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward said he wants to participate in the franchise's search for its next head coach. Ward confirmed he has discussed his involvement with team leadership as the organization evaluates candidates.

"I want to meet all of them," Ward said of the potential candidates. "Every coach who gets the opportunity to come here, I want to have conversations throughout the process with them. I'm going to be here for that whole time."

Ward said president of football operations Chad Brinker and general manager Mike Borgonzi have spoken with him about his role in the search. The rookie quarterback indicated he will support the next hire regardless of their background.

Tennessee dismissed head coach Brian Callahan in October after a 1-5 start to the season. The team cited a lack of progress despite Callahan's offensive expertise.

Ward had been vocal in supporting Callahan during training camp. He said at the time he wanted to perform well enough to make Callahan one of the top coaches in the league.

Interim head coach Mike McCoy has posted a 1-8 record since taking over. The Titans remain winless in their last nine games heading into the final weeks of the season.

According to a team source, the Titans are seeking a candidate with strong leadership skills. The organization wants someone who can establish a clear identity after two seasons without one.

Ward said he will embrace the next head coach whether the hire emphasizes offense or defense. His involvement reflects the franchise's commitment to building around its rookie quarterback.
