Jaxon Smith-Njigba will open the season on the active roster for the Seattle Seahawks, according to a report.

The rookie wide receiver recently underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his wrist. Pete Carroll had said the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft would likely be sidelined 3-4 weeks as he recovers.

It remains to be seen if he'll play in Week 1, but keeping him on the active roster is a positive sign that he'll return sooner than later.
