It was announced during the NFL Honors ceremony that the league's annual rushing title will be named for Jim Brown from this point forward.

Brown averaged 5.2 yards per carry for his entire career, peaking at 6.4 yards per attempt and a then-record 1,863 total yards in 1963.

The first winner of the Jim Brown Award was Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, who led the league with 1,653 yards in 2022.
