The Chiefs on Thursday signed safety Jerome Woods to a one-year contract, allowing the veteran to retire as a member of the team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and Woods will move to the Chiefs' reserve-retired list on Friday. Woods spent parts of 10 seasons with the Chiefs from 1996-2005, recording 720 tackles, 15 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. The 6-3 strong safety is seventh on Kansas City's all-time list for career tackles.
