Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson was released from the hospital Monday, one day after being shot twice in an armed robbery attempt.

According to sources, Robinson will meet with Washington's doctors at the team's facility Tuesday to determine the extent of his rehabilitation.

The team remains hopeful about Robinson's chances of playing this season.

"He's very fortunate," Ron Rivera said. "He's doing well. It will be a matter of time before he's back out here. There's no timeline, but everything was very positive.

"It's just about the healing process, and once he's well enough to get on the field, doctors have to clear him and we'll go from there. Everything is positive so far."

Washington used a third-round pick on Robinson.
