Rumors continue to swirl about just how close the Miami Dolphins were to bringing Tom Brady into the fold this offseason.

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Dolphins planned to bring Brady in as a minority owner after he announced his retirement on Feb. 1. After adding him to their ownership group, Miami planned to work out a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Dolphins also wanted to bring Sean Payton in as head coach, but the Brian Flores' lawsuit halted the franchise's plans.

Soon after, Brady realized the only way he could play in 2022 would be to return to the Buccaneers.
