New York Jets assistant coach Greg Knapp is battling life-threatening injuries suffered in a bicycling accident Saturday.

Knapp, 58, was struck by a single motorist at approximately 2:49 p.m. near his home in Danville, California.

Based on the preliminary investigation, drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor, police said.

Knapp was hired to work with the quarterback group, most notably rookie Zach Wilson, the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
