The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Houston Texans in the 2020 NFL regular season opener on Thursday with a reduced capacity of 25 percent due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The NFL is in unprecedented territory as some teams attempt to keep their stadiums open to fans on limited basis with this game serving as the first test case.

According to data from Vivid Seats, the average price of a ticket sold for the game is $450, representing a drop of just nine percent from the opening game of the 2019 NFL season. Last season when the Chicago Bears hosted the Green Bay Packers, the average ticket price sold on the secondary market was $496.

Rain is also in the forecast for Kansas City on Thursday, which could hamper ticket prices.
