Broncos linebacker Al Wilson scheduled a news conference Friday to announce he is being released by the Broncos after eight seasons, sources said. Wilson called a 4 p.m. ET meeting with the media in Denver to discuss his future, which will not include the Broncos, the team that made him a No. 1 draft choice in 1999 and allowed him to grow into the leadership role on playoff caliber defenses. Wilson leaves the Broncos as a four-time Pro Bowl player and one of the top defenders in franchise history.
