Cam Newton has been named the starting quarterback of the New England Patriots and he's also been voted one of the team's offensive captains.

Newton signed a one-year deal with the Patriots and can make up to $7.5 million.

Newton was MVP in 2015 and has battled injuries in recent seasons.
