Marshawn Lynch restructured his contract with the Oakland Raiders one day before his $1 million roster bonus was due on Sunday.

The new package includes a $500,000 reduction in his base compensation.

Lynch’s base salary has dropped from $4 million to $2.5 million, with a separate $1 million roster bonus due on the 11th day of the league year.

Lynch traded $500,000 for a full and clear commitment that he’ll get at least $4.5 million this year.
