The Public Religion Research Institute conducted a survey of 1,033 adults and asked several questions about the NFL.

Twenty-seven percent of those polled believe that "God plays a role in determining which team wins a sporting event."

According to the survey, 53 percent of respondents believe that "God rewards athletes who have faith with good health and success."

Minority Christians and white Evangelicals, as well as Southerners, are the most likely to believe God cares about sporting events and athletes.
