The Chicago Bears have hired Marc Trestman as head coach.

Trestman comes from the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes.

Trestman has been an assistant with eight NFL teams, but has been out of the league for eight years. He is noted as a quarterback guru.

Trestman will bring in former Saints interim head coach Aaron Kromer as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, a league source told ESPN.

Phil Emery hopes to bring back defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli.
