Jim Harbaugh is publicly losing patience with David Akers.

Akers, who is 25-for-35 this season, missing a 39-yard attempt against the Patriots in the first half on Sunday.

“Specialists sometimes only get four or five opportunities a game, and you’ve got to make the play,” Harbaugh said Monday. “You’ve got to see him do it, got to see him make those plays.”

Harbaugh said that Akers remains part of the team and the 49ers don't plan on making a change at this point.
