Woody Johnson said that seeing Mitt Romney win the U.S. presidential election is a higher priority than the New York Jets finishing their season with a winning record.

Johnson, New York chairman for the Romney campaign, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television’s “Market Makers” that if forced to choose between the two, he’d pick a win by Romney over incumbent President Barack Obama on Nov. 6.

“Well, I think you always have to put country first,” Johnson said. “So I think it’s very, very important, not only for us but in particular for our kids and grandkids that this election come off with Mitt Romney and Ryan as president and vice president.”

The Jets are currently 2-2 after losing to the 49ers by a final score of 34-0.
