David Garrard's contract with the Miami Dolphins becomes fully guaranteed for the season if he is on their Week 1 roster.

"My only thing is, hopefully my name is on the 53-man roster when it's game day," said Garrard. "If not, I just got to be ready to do something somewhere else."

Garrard practiced for the first time in weeks on Monday, but his knee is not yet 100 percent.

Matt Moore is insurance for Ryan Tannehill, leading to the possibility of the Dolphins releasing Garrard.

Garrard has already received a $1 million signing bonus.

"I'm just trying to be smart as I can without delaying myself too much," Garrard said. "I'm not going to force myself to do anything to hurt myself in the long run, period, if it's here or somewhere else."
