The NFL and NFLPA have been unable to come to an agreement on the date of the trade deadline and on new injured reserve rules.

Owners voted in May to move the deadline from Week 6 to Week 8.

Teams would also have been permitted to bring back one player who entered the regular season on injured reserve.

The rules, however, required permission from the NFLPA.

“There was no agreement on it with the union,” Greg Aiello told Fox Sports in an email. “The old rules apply.”

The inability for the two sides to reach agreement is an example of the contentious relationship.
