The NFL is mulling over some significant changes to the annual Scouting Combine, according to a New York Times report. One of the possibilities would be to have prospects compete against one another in the 40-yard dash and the bench-press. "We would not want to do something that was just good for television, or just good for the fans, if it were at the expense of either the football evaluation or the players' preparation," the NFL's Eric Grubman said. "It's a balancing act. The combine works."
