The Raiders started Kyle Boller at quarterback on Sunday afternoon against the Chiefs, but he was pulled in favor of Carson Palmer midway through the third quarter. Trailing 21-0 at home, Palmer came into the game after Boller went 7-for-14 with 61 yards and three interceptions. Boller also fumbled, but he recovered the miscue. Palmer went 1-for-3 on his first series, completing an 18-yard pass to Darrius Heyward-Bey.
