Chargers tight end Antonio Gates was active and caught a touchdown pass against the Jets on Sunday after missing three games with a flare-up of plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Gates tore scar tissue near the injury Sept. 18 against New England, and was available for Philip Rivers to throw to for the first time in over a month. Midway through the fourth quarter, Gates had tallied three catches for 26 yards and the aforementioned touchdown.
