After being released by the Philadelphia Eagles in March, Terrell Owens was hoping to hear from the Atlanta Falcons. Owens had a house in the area and felt that a deal with the Falcolns made sense for both sides. He had mended fences with Falcons offensive coordinator Greg Knapp a long time ago, and George Stewart, his position coach with the 49ers, was on the staff. "They knew that I was on the market, but for whatever reason, they didn't pull the trigger," said Owens. "Definitely, I did look at Atlanta as a place to play, but unfortunately that didn't happen." Before Owens' contract dispute in Philadelphia and public squabbles with Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, he blew up at Knapp when they were with the San Francisco 49ers. "Our relationship was great," Owens said. "That one incident that I had with Greg Knapp, I think that happened and I apologized for that. We were able to move on."
