Patriots quarterback Tom Brady appeared a bit off during the preseason, but his issues were fixed before Week 1 thanks to a visit by his longtime quarterback guru Tom Martinez. Martinez, who has been battling serious health issues related to complications from diabetes, made a trip from the West Coast over Labor Day weekend. During the stay, Martinez and Brady watched film of the quarterback's delivery, the mentor diagnosed several problems with his mechanics, and Brady went about correcting them before the season opener in Miami. "He asked me to come out, right before the season started. Labor Day weekend," Martinez told The Boston Herald. "He said he was off. His throwing was off. So I went out there Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. We went through the film. Then all of a sudden, everything else fell into place. Within about an hour, he was back to the old Tom Brady. Then he had that 517 yard game following. I guess what we did worked."
