The Falcons have promoted Rich McKay, giving him the title of CEO and president.
Atlanta owner Arthur Blank said Thursday the expanded role is a reward for McKay's accomplishments and contributions on many key business initiatives, such as the team's efforts to build a new stadium.
McKay previously served as team president.
He joined the Falcons in 2003 after serving as general manager of the Buccaneers for nearly nine years.
