Eagles coach Andy Reid says wide receiver Jeremy Maclin should be ready to play by the start of the regular season. Philadelphia will open the season on Sept. 11 in St. Louis. Maclin hasn't practiced this summer and the Eagles still don't know exactly what is wrong with him. "I think he's going to be ready," Reid said. "I guess I'm optimistic. I'm waiting to hear the results, but I'm optimistic." Maclin, who had 70 catches for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns last year, hasn't practiced yet this summer because of a mystery illness.
