Texans coach Gary Kubiak has taken a week-long trip to visit United States military troops in the Persian Gulf. He called the experience the "thrill of a lifetime." "Before I came here, I spoke to some who had made this (USO-sponsored) trip, and they told me it would change my life, and they were right," Kubiak said from Baghdad. "This is one of the greatest experiences of my life — the thrill of a lifetime. "I've met so many interesting soldiers. They're so happy to have us here. I feel like I'm thanking them for everybody back home, thanking them for everything they do. I have so much respect and admiration for the sacrifices they make to protect us." Kubiak hasn't been surprised by the question he's hearing the most. It's the same question he hears the most when he's home. "The question we're getting the most is, 'Will we have football this season?'" Kubiak said. "And I tell them, 'Yes, we're going to have football this season.'"
