After negotiations to take a salary cut did not go as planned, the Tennessee Titans released 7-year veteran Lance Shulters on Thursday in an effort to clear some salary-cap room. "This is a case where we are continuing to deal with the salary cap issues that were primarily addressed in February, and we were unable to find a deal that was agreeable for both sides," said general manager Floyd Reese. "We wish (Schulters) the best and realize he still has some quality football ahead of him, but we are committed to getting through our cap difficulties this year."
