NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will not retire from the League on his scheduled July 31st date. Without a successor to replace him, Tagliabue remains optimistic team owners will find a replacement by the beginning of the 2006 season. "I couldn't say the end of July," Tagliabue said as he walked to a reception on the campus of Georgetown University after delivering an address during the school's commencement ceremonies. "I think we're going to have a big dead spot in there because so many owners go away between mid-June and mid-July. So I think it'll probably carry beyond that, but hopefully it will get done."
