An extension of the talks toward a new collective bargaining agreement between NFL owners and the players' union is "definitely a possibility," according to two sources. The owners made a significant enough proposal to the players Thursday which may be enough to "stop the clock" and continue negotiations on a new CBA that would delay a work stoppage. The union is awaiting answers on some core issues to determine whether there will be an agreement to extend negotiations beyond the midnight deadline. The talks between the sides were scheduled to end at 1 p.m. ET but they are still ongoing. The current collective bargaining agreement expires at midnight on Thursday night.
