The NFL and NFLPA met in front of a mediator for the fourth consecutive day on Monday and progress is apparently being made. "Things are going well right now," said Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch, a member of the NFL Players Association executive committee. "We'll see how things progress over the next couple days." The two sides have met for more than 25 hours over the last four days as they work towards a new collective bargaining agreement. The current one expires on March 3. The union has said it believes team owners want to lock out the players as soon as the next day, which could threaten the 2011 season.
