Auburn quarterback Cam Newton's pending media workout has drawn skepticism from NFL scouts. The NFL isn't allowed to attend the workout in California, which is set for Feb. 10 in Del Mar at a high school. A scout called the workout a publicity stunt while talking to Rob Rang of NFL Draft Scout. "The Newtons would be best to realize they aren't in college anymore," a high-level scout told Rang. "Regardless of how good he looks for [the media], there isn't going to be a bidding war for him. We're not recruiting him. They could wind up turning more people against them than for them with this [workout]."
