Mike Singletary is close to joining Minnesota's coaching staff. A league source said it "looks good" that Singletary will become linebackers coach under Leslie Frazier. The two were roommates as rookies with the Bears in 1981 and have remained close friends. The Panthers have also expressed interest in Singletary, who was fired as San Francisco's coach near the end of the season.
