The 49ers have reached out to Josh McDaniels in the event they lose out on Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, a source told the San Jose Mercury News. McDaniels was fired by the Broncos in the second half of the season. Harbaugh is being chased by a number of teams, including Miami and San Francisco.
