Vikings coach Brad Childress says he hasn't gotten an update from Brett Favre on his status for next season, but the two remain in contact. Childress added that Favre hasn't given the team an update on a possible surgery on his left ankle either. The coach says he has exchanged text messages with Favre during the offseason, but insisted that "texting is not talking."
