The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have addressed the situation regarding the impending free agency of quarterback Chris Simms, at least for now.
The Buccaneers on Wednesday re-signed Simms to a one-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tampa Bay's third-round draft selection in 2003, Simms enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2005. He replaced injured starter Brian Griese six games into the season and helped lead the Buccaneers to an 11-5 record and the NFC South Division title.
