Rob Ryan hopes the early success enjoyed by his twin brother, Jets head coach Rex Ryan, will soon help him to land an NFL head coaching job. Rob Ryan is currently defensive coordinator of the Browns. Rob, in typical Ryan fashion, calls himself a "great coach" and says, "I will be a head coach in this league, and I will be damn successful, too." Rob has 23 years of coaching experience, the last 12 in the NFL. He gained two Super Bowl rings while serving as Patriots linebackers coach from 2000 to 2003 before joining the Raiders as a defensive coordinator for five years. Rob Ryan says Raiders owner Al Davis gave him his only interview for an NFL head coaching vacancy four years ago. He'd welcome another opportunity to impress Davis if current coach Tom Cable should be dismissed after a 5-11 record. "Hell, yeah, I'd have interest," Rob says. "I haven't talked to Mr. Davis because he has a coach. Let's see what happens."
