Mike Heimerdinger, say the Jets, is still their offensive coordinator. But for how long? The dust has to settle after offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak bolted the Broncos to become the Houston Texans' head coach. But the word from Denver is that Heimerdinger remains on the Broncos' radar screen because the Jets still may let him out of a contract that has two years and $2.3 million left on it. If Heimerdinger forgoes that guaranteed money and waives the offset clause in his contract, he might be able to rejoin college roommate Mike Shanahan.
