Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum took the blame for not listing Brett Favre on the team's injury report late last season. Tests indicated that Favre had a torn biceps muscle, and the quarterback even approached the team about his ineffectiveness. "I think the reason we didn't do it was because we knew he was going to play," Tannenbaum told the New York Times. "He wasn't in the training room every day. He was a guy that never got treatment. I know he got a couple of cortisone shots, but he was going to play and wasn't getting treatment. That's why we did not do it, but looking back at it, we should have listed him as probable." The NFL is looking into the matter. In the past, the league has fined teams for not being forthcoming with injury news.
