The Browns won't release Donte Stallworth in order to save money towards the salary cap. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Stallworth without pay for the 2009 season this week. If Cleveland released Stallworth now, it would cost them $7.6 million on their salary cap because of the seven-year, $35 million deal he signed in 2008. The Browns will receive $745,000 in cap relief, Stallworth's base salary for 2009.
