After pushing their inaugural season back to 2010, the United National Gridiron League is making a number of positive steps towards achieving their new goal. The league will hold their first-ever mini camp in Florida next month. The event, which will take place on August 15th at the Sperling Sports Complex, will kick off a series of regional mini camps. The UNGL will also announce its first team, complete with logo, on Friday. You can monitor the news on www.ungleague.com, http://twitter.com/ungleague and also www.realgmfootball.com. All of their ducks -- including financial, administrative and personnel ?- are beginning to line up thanks to the additional time the UNGL provided itself when they delayed their first season. A conversation with CEO Marvin Tomlin confirmed that the league is making progress, and that they are maintaining their goal of helping the players first and foremost. They aren't looking to compete with any of the other football leagues, but rather help setup their players for future success. There are still eight teams in line to compete in the UNGL's inaugural campaign, with a majority residing in the Southern United States. If all goes according to plan, the league will have revealed their eight clubs by mid-September. Stay tuned for updates on the league's continued progress.
