They may not have a coach, but the Minnesota Vikings suddenly have the beginnings of a revamped front office structure, with owner Zygi Wilf retaining vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski and beginning the search for a top-flight personnel executive. League and team sources confirmed early Monday that the Vikings and Brzezinski have reached agreement on a multi-year contract, believed to be for three years. Wilf also has begun interviewing candidates for the top personnel post within what will be a markedly revamped front office for 2006. It is believed that Wilf will meet on Monday with Tom Heckert, the Philadelphia Eagles' vice president of player personnel for the last five years. On Saturday, the Vikings owner interviewed a pair of in-house candidates, Jeff Robinson and Scott Studwell, and likely will meet with one or two more men about heading up the personnel department. The Vikings dismissed head coach Mike Tice less than an hour after Sunday's season finale, a victory over the Chicago Bears, and Wilf may actually attempt to quickly define his front office team before turning his concentration to a new head coach.
