Lions general manager Martin Mayhew held a pre-draft news conference on Tuesday, and it appears as though they'll have the first overall pick signed prior to the draft. "We've talked about having a competitive advantage of not saying too much, and I think we've done a pretty good job of that to this point," Mayhew said. "I understand you guys have a job to do. But we have a job to do, too. So I think we've been pretty focused on that." Mayhew wouldn't reveal any candidates for the pick, but maintained that the team will try hard to sign the player this week. "We had a plan for that, and we're executing that plan," Mayhew said.
