The Bears haven't discussed a new contract with newly-acquired quarterback Jay Cutler, but talks are expected to start sooner rather than later. The belief is that Chicago didn't give up Kyle Orton and a host of draft picks without the intention of signing Cutler to a lucrative, new deal within the next two seasons. In 2011, Cutler's base salary will be $1.81 million with a roster bonus of $12 million. By then, the Bears are likely to have a new deal in place.
