When the Cowboys released Terrell Owens, Bills quarterback Trent Edwards bought the idea of signing the wide receiver to the team's management. "I was excited. I was very surprised that it happened," Edwards said Monday of the signing. "I respect football players that have such a passion and desire to win football games." Buffalo signed Owens to a one-year deal worth $6.5 million to lead the team's receiving core and help Lee Evans. "On the field, he's going to create, or need, a lot of attention by the defense," Edwards said. "That's going to take a lot of pressure off of Lee, a lot of pressure off of our other backs and tight ends. I think he's going to help a lot in terms of raising our competitive level off the field, too."
