In San Diego, Antonio Gates sprained his right foot at the end of a 21-yard reception midway through the third quarter of the Chargers' rout of Buffalo. He was tripped up by Angelo Crowell and then had safety Lawyer Milloy land on him. The Chargers (6-4) aren't sure how long Gates will be out. Gates, voted an All-Pro last year after setting an NFL record for tight ends with 13 touchdown catches, caught five passes for 77 yards and one touchdown. He has seven TD catches this year.
