A Jets spokesman has denied a report that the team has given quarterback Brett Favre "months" to decide whether or not he'll return for another season. Sports Illustrated's Peter King reported on NBC's broadcast on Sunday afternoon that general manager Mike Tannenbaum's message was that Favre didn't need to "rush" his decision and that he can take "months" if necessary. The spokesman said the team hopes to have an indication from Favre by the time the NFL combine begins Feb. 18.
