Russell Wilson has given the Seattle Seahawks a deadline of April 15th to sign a contract extension.
Wilson has one year remaining on the four-year, $87.6 million contract he signed July 31, 2015.
Wilson and the Seahawks have been negotiating in recent days. Wilson is seeking a quick resolution unlike the prolonged talks in 2015.
Wilson said in January he would play the 2019 season without a new contract “if that’s what I’ve got to do.”
Seattle would like to avoid using the franchise tag on Wilson next offseason.
