The Dallas Cowboys have saved $3 million against the salary cap by releasing Orlando Scandrick.
The veteran cornerback will count $1.6 million against the cap in 2019. The Cowboys will not receive the $3 million credit until June.
Scandrick requested his release, according to sources. He was expected to visit with the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
He was a fifth-round pick of Dallas in 2008.
