General manager Phil Emery will continue to search for way the Chicago Bears can improve their roster throughout the season.

Emery took over for Jerry Angelo this offseason.

“If I’m up later than I should be, it’s because I’m studying who’s available out there and can add to the Bears and continue to work on our roster,” Emery said on WBBM-780 AM. “As I’ve said on numerous occasions, we can’t rest on our roster.

“Is there room to be creative (with the salary cap)? There’s always room to be creative to make things happen. … There is room. We’ll just have to do it step by step.”
