The Bengals are in need of a quarterback to replace Carson Palmer, who has one foot out the door, and they like Philadelphia's Kevin Kolb, but a deal is unlikely for a number of reasons. Because of the lockout, there is a good chance the NFL's trading period won't start until after this month's draft. If Cincinnati drafts a quarterback, that would seemingly take them out of the running. In addition, if the draft passes there is a question as to whether the Eagles would deal Kolb without getting immediate picks in return. Lastly, other teams in need of a quarterback are reportedly willing to offer more than the Bengals for a player of Kolb's caliber and promise.
